Rembrandt Commission - Self Portrait at The Age of 63 (detail) 1669

Our friends at the National Gallery commissioned us to create a limited edition run of 100 plates based on one of Rembrandt's most well known masterpieces, Self Portrait at The Age of 63 (detail) 1669. What an amazing gig that was - to be able to work with such an amazing image, and to be entrusted to translate it into the plates by The National Gallery was both an incredible honour and a huge responsibility, posing as it did some major technical issues in both colour matching and faithfulness, and also just getting the plates to fire properly. Despite several major setbacks, we managed to pull it off.
