London Transport Museum, 150 years of The London Underground

We have been working on a wonderful range of 'luxury' products for The London Transport Museum in order to celebrate the 150th anniversary of The London Underground. This amazing commission enabled Paul Bishop to lose himself in London Underground's famous archive material in order to develop the range.

Collectively entitled 'Blueprint' these pieces draw heavily on both the architectural plans and the artistic heritage of the Underground and attempt to put a contemporary slant on the commemorative.

With many of the plans and documents in the archives showing their signs of age, with some held together by Sellotape and many with the stains and marks of 150 years of history, Paul decided to use these marks as a way of encapsulating history - so expect to find tea stains, tears, sticky tape and lots more embedded into the design. We produced the range using primarily cobalt blue and gold.
